From the wiki entry – "On April 25, 2014, Lucasfilm and Disney revised the franchise’s canon. They announced that the existing six films and The Clone Wars television series are the "immovable objects" of Star Wars storytelling" It was also stated that future projects will all be tied together as official canon an I can only assume this means Rebels since it happened after the purchase by Disney. yay!!!!!!!!!
